Curraghmore Whiskey Casks

Curraghmore Whiskey

Harvest 2024 is almost ready

After a year of unpredictable weather, we are glad to be getting close to harvest time. Ned Morrisey will be harvesting spring barley from these fields over the next few days (weather permitting!) and we cannot wait to get it cut and into store. As you can see, we’ve been growing a mix of Amity and Planet variety this year.

Once cut and dried, it will be malted, and then distilled probably early next year, to make Curraghmore Single Estate Pot Still Whiskey. We are so proud to be able to grow the ingredients needed for our special whiskey here on Curraghmore Estate;  we know that its unique terroir lends a distinctive flavour profile to our liquid.

Current weather is damp and warm, with lots of blustery wind – we are awaiting the tail end of Hurricane Ernesto over the next few days too. It’s incredible to see such growth over a relatively short season – these fields were planted around the 11th of May, which is very late. It will be interesting to see what the yield is too – we’ll keep you posted. Keep an eye on our social channels for more!
